Dinner with the Ducks

Tonight you and I decided to surprise Daddy by having dinner packed as a  picnic so we could go to the park and watch and feed the ducks. Sadly, the only ducks that were there I scared off while getting our bright red picnic blanket shaken out and I made a fisherman mad becasue that casued all the fish to freak out and swim away. I'm a klutz, you'll figure this out one day.

Anyways, despite there being a lack of ducks, the picnic was fun. You got to taste grass and you and daddy picked out the perfect place for us to eat dinner.

I love this picture. I love your cheeks.

Oh yum... grass.

Time to drop your crib... again.

So - a few days ago, I walked in and saw that you had pulled yourself up on your crib to your knees. Today, I walked in and noticed that you had pulled yourself up to your feet. I hope that you are not repelling down your crib next week... I am not ready for that!

You win.

You know how they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words"? I think that these next two pictures tell a novel. But - in short - you won... and you were sure proud of yourself. In the battle between the puffs your cousin jack left and your muscles, the score is definitely 0-1. Those poor puffs didn't stand a chance!

Crawling!!

Yup- I can't believe it! You have been army crawling for a couple days now... but I finally just caught it on video this morning. You are SO fast already... I hope I'll be able to keep up!

My big boy.

I can't believe this picture. You're starting to look like such a little boy. It's hard for me to think that in just a few months you'll be a whole year old!

Your crib

We have a routine everyday where first thing when you wake up in the morning I go in and say hi, kiss you, ask you how you slept, open your curtains, and hand you a basket with some things in it to explore. Then you play in your crib for about 30-45 min. That's usually when I shower, clean up dinner dishes... or whatever (you're SO good to me).

This particular morning you were giddy about playing with your toys and I just heard happy sounds all the way up until it was time for me to go get you.

You had figured out that you could play with multiple things at once AND spread them out all over your crib... what a discovery! You're so easily pleased, it's really sweet.

Happy Fathers Day!

You should know that you have the best Daddy in the world. He is the most wonderful man I know and we are so blessed that he loves us so much. He's an amazing example of how to love and follow Jesus and how Daddy's should love their families. He is always kind and considerate and he is also a great model of someone who chooses to do the right thing even when they don't feel like it (or know it won't be easy). With that said, you are one lucky boy to have this man to look up to. He is incredibly devoted to you and in raising you to be a strong man who loves God with his whole heart.

Since today is Fathers day, we went out to Daddy's favorite place for dinner, McCalisters. It's pretty fun that you're big enough to sit in a highchair now when we go places. You love being big. I wish this picture wasn't so blurry of you two, but I was just happy to get one of you both smiling (even though Daddy's eyes are closed)...
