My Little Gerber Baby

We started solids with you about a week ago and so far you are loving the taste of food! You're still having a little bit of a hard time figuring out how to keep it in your mouth and how to swallow it... but up open up your mouth wide every time you see the spoon! Here you are eating squash in your airplane PJ's (your daddy's favorite).

Oh yum!

You love food and trying new things. I think that your bottle is still your favorite... but food is so fun and exciting to you. I love it-- you've really encouraged me to try some new things, and re-try other things that I haven't liked in the past.

Tub time

I could help myself... I had to get some pictures of you in the bathtub tonight and with Daddy. I think you may want to be a fish when you grow up because you love being in the water so much. You are way too cute.

So sweet

We got you these shoes over Christmas... and you're just now able to fit in them. You were just so sweet and unbelievably cute in the back seat I couldn't help myself-I had to get a picture.

Our hope for you...

 Today was Baby Dedication Sunday at our church, Sojourn. This is something that we have thought through for a while and been excited about. We were SO proud to hold you up in front of the church and promise our devotion to raising you as best we can to be a man of God. This is the picture of you that was in our churches bulletin and what we wrote for you:

Noah William Petersen was born on October 13, 2009, and is our first child. We selected his name first for the very spiritual reasons that we like the sound of it and it was the only one that we could both agree on. The name means "rest and peace," and we are amazed that he has been able to live up to his name so early. Of all the lessons we have learned so far as parents, the one we are reminded of several times each day is how undeserving we are of God's incredible blessings, and there is no better way to describe our little man. As new parents, 2 Timothy 3:14-15 has been an encouragement to us. It's been a great reminder for us to provide an environment where Noah can experience and learn the gospel.

My bald baby

When you were born you were BALD except for a nice chunk of hair on the back of your head like a monk. Your dad used to joke and say "He's a baby from the front and an old man from the back!" But you wore it so well it was cute... becasue it was just perfectly you. And now you've lost a lot of the hair on the back and you're just a bald little guy.

I think it's cute. I like your bald little head. And you know what? I think I'll be a little sad when you start growing a lot of hair, becasue that will mean that you're turning into a big boy... and I like having you as my baby right now.

I love these pictures of you and Daddy. You're such a handsome and cheerful guy it's hard not to be crazy about you and want to take pictures of you all day long. I wish they weren't so bury, but I'm just glad I captured you two like this today. We sure love you.
